BEHIND THE YARN

Hi, I'm Joan.

I dye yarn in small batches from my kitchen corner in Singapore. The colourways I curate are drawn from nature, the spirit of the seasons, quiet moments in between. Every skein is a little different. No two batches are exactly alike.

Some colourways are one-of-a-kind, and may not come back. If something catches your eye, don't be afraid to grab a little extra.

THE PROCESS

Every skein, by hand.

Every batch is made by hand in my kitchen, just a few skeins at a time. Mixing, dyeing, drying, it's slow work, and a single batch can take days.

I measure every pigment by hand, chasing the exact shade I imagined

Then work the colour through by hand, until every skein takes the shade
